P20EE on Renault and Dacia Blue dCi: the countdown before no-start

On Renault and Dacia Blue dCi models, fault code P20EE can appear with the message “Check anti-pollution system”. The code indicates that the SCR system is working below its efficiency threshold: NOx emissions are not being treated sufficiently. Models cited in our source material include Clio, Captur, Duster and Kadjar. The cause is often crystallization obstructing the AdBlue injector in the exhaust line. Cleaning or replacing the injector is the logical repair, but it does not necessarily clear P20EE on its own.
