The Trap of Dealer 'Goodwill': Why 50% coverage isn't enough

Faced with a broken Haldex pump or a deformed AdBlue tank, many dealers will immediately offer you an 'exceptional goodwill gesture' of 30% or 50% towards the repair cost. Do not be fooled: this is often an admission of weakness on their part.

The Rule of Expected Lifespan

When dealing with a manufacturing defect, compensation should be calculated based on the theoretical lifespan of the part, not the manufacturer's generosity. If a component is designed to last 150,000 miles and fails at 30,000 miles, legitimate coverage should be around 80%. Accepting 30% means you are paying for their design flaw.

The Settlement Agreement: The Kiss of Death

Crucially, these partial offers almost always come with a settlement agreement preventing you from taking further legal action. Before accepting crumbs, contact our collective to evaluate the true value of your claim.
